Frank Velgara: Memorial Gathering & Celebration

On August 25, 2022, long-time Puerto Rican Revolutionary Independentista and Socialist Francisco "Franky" Velgara Valentin passed away after a 2-year battle with cancer.

For over 50 years, Franky dedicated his life to the liberation of his homeland Puerto Rico, the freedom of U.S. held Poliitical Prisoners, to solidarity with the Cuban and Vietnamese revolutions, and the establishment of a socialist society. From across the U.S., Puerto Rico and beyond, he was a beloved father, godfather, brother, friend, comrade and mentor to his community of family. He was an unmatched force of nature whose dedication and commitment to liberation touched various communities around the world.

We will feature live music, poetry, video tributes, and global solidarity messages.
